The Studio

Concrete Architects is a Tel Aviv-based architecture studio specializing in the planning, permitting, and design of private homes, boutique residential buildings, and urban renewal projects, with proven experience working within Tel Aviv's urban fabric — particularly in sensitive, historic neighborhoods such as Neve Tzedek.

The studio was founded in 2015 by architects Gabriel Ben Ezra and Nadia Kalikova, following years of professional experience at leading architecture firms in Israel and abroad. It focuses on projects that combine precise architectural planning with a deep understanding of permitting processes, regulatory frameworks, and urban context.

Concrete Architects is a licensed firm for building permits, providing full guidance through planning and permitting — from the initial concept, through coordination with local committees and professional consultants, to receiving the building permit and guidance toward execution. The studio has experience with complex projects, including new construction, additions, heritage preservation, and building on challenging plots in dense urban areas.

The studio's work is concentrated mainly in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, and the central region, with expertise in private residential construction and human-scale boutique residential buildings characterized by clean design, careful urban thinking, and attention to detail — both in planning and in dealings with the authorities.

From the initial idea to its realization, the studio offers its clients personal, professional, and responsive guidance, tailored to the specific nature of each project, its schedule, and its budget — with a commitment to high-quality, practical, and enduring architecture.

As a Tel Aviv architect, Concrete Architects specializes in private home design, complex building permits, and home planning and design in Tel Aviv and central Israel, including heritage neighborhoods such as Neve Tzedek.

FAQ

FAQ

What services does Concrete Architects provide?

Concrete Architects offers full-service architecture for residential and commercial projects, including conceptual design, permits and approvals, construction documentation, interior design, and on-site supervision from first sketch to final handover.

How much does it cost to hire an architect in Israel?

Architect fees in Israel typically range from 8-15% of total construction cost, depending on project scope and complexity. We provide a detailed quote after an initial consultation based on your specific needs.

How long does a typical residential project take?

A standard private home or renovation project takes 12-24 months from initial design through permit approval and construction completion, depending on project size and municipal approval timelines.

Do you manage building permits and municipal approvals?

Yes. We handle the entire permitting process, including submissions to the local planning and building committee, Tabu registration coordination, and all required municipal approvals.

Which areas does Concrete Architects serve?

We are based in Tel Aviv and serve clients throughout central Israel, including Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya, Givatayim, and the greater Gush Dan area.

Can you renovate an existing building, or do you only design new construction?

Both. We design new buildings from the ground up and also handle renovations, additions, and structural changes to existing residential and commercial properties.

What is the difference between an architect and a contractor?

An architect designs the building, prepares technical drawings, and secures permits, while a contractor executes the physical construction. We work closely with trusted contractors and oversee their work throughout the build.

How do I start a project with Concrete Architects?

Contact us for an initial consultation where we discuss your vision, budget, and timeline. From there we prepare a proposal outlining design phases, fees, and next steps.
